I find the phone app really annoying on the Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 5 (i will upgrade to WM6 later, but i don’t expect it will get any better). I have no idea why the PDA lists the SIM contacts as well in the “fast” dial as I haven’t used these for 7 years. It’s fun for the first time but quite annoying when you really need to call somebody.
The good thing is, that there’s really easy fix for this. All you have to do is just fire up your favourite registry editor. There is couple of them for free, like PHM. Install them to your device, navigate yourself to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone and change value of ShowSIM to 0 (zero).
This trick works for the standard Contact list, but not for the Phone nor the external apps like SPB Phone Suite. So only solution for this is actually deleting all the contacts from SIM card using SIM Manager. I only hope that i won’t need to use my card in someone’s else phone… =(
