Word Suggestion for Block Recognizer on HTC Touch HD

I am pretty much used to old Palm OS Graffiti, so I decided to go with Block Recognizer again with my new device HTC Touch HD. However there’s a problem, that the word completion does not work for it… This is not a problem in usual text for me as i don’t use it much, but the contact suggestion also does not work.

So let’s launch your favourite registry editor again and change these:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9 - XT9SupportMSSip to 1 (defaults to zero)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9 - Suggest to 1 (defaults to zero)

This should do the trick! =) You don’t even have to restart your device. If you are still getting into problems, make sure you switch to ABC mode in your HTC Full Keyboard

Hello, I am having the same frustration with a Touch Pro, having transitioned this week from Palm after 9 years. I have never used a Registry Editor. What one would you recommend and what are the details of the steps involved?

I am also finding Windows Mobile 6.1 extremely slow compared with my Palm Tungsten T5, even for opening my list of Notes (Memos in Palm). Do I just have to accept this due to Windows bloat? Many thanks in anticipation.

    Hi,
I have acquired the HTC HD and miss the possibility of writing on the screen as we did on the Palms. But I do not understand how to implement that on the HTC. It looks like you have made it. COuld I ask you for some more guidence?

Abutoma: that feature is called Block Recognizer and it’s a default feature on the Touch HD. Sometimes you have to reactivate it in registry (especially if you have non-english system).
